Yup.... A pair may be better, as there is going to be a pair when you have 3 the third is just not gonna be overly happy IMO.

I have a pond with 3 mature females and 1 mature male. Guess how many ladies have ever been prego?

one thing to consider... cause some bubbles need to be broke on this forum... breeding motoros is not going to make you money.... the amount you put in and fact that nobody really wants motoro anymore.... see my reg motoro pups sell locally for like 40-60 a piece i sell my marbles for 250... there is no money in rays unless your set up like mike...
my point exactly nic. i was referring to mike at h2o with the large breeding facility

Thanks for the responses, im breeding them more for my own enjoyment. I have a 250 gallon tank right now that i used to house rays in, i have a few fish im moving out of there now and i want to get back into housing rays.

The actual size of the ray should not matter, as my lay out is adequate, but for number purposes i prefer smaller ones.

Almost. ONE.

IF they really bred like people think I'd have 3.

i agree, you will not get rich selling them that is for sure, but you can make back some of the money you invested in the rays by selling and trading the pups. Plus it is fun to acomplish breeding.

off of my pups and selling them i have not come close to making a profit... figure in the years ive had them they have eaten a few Gs worth of food.. electric i dont even wanna talk about... you can try to recoop some but long run dont happen... but yea breeding is a nice thing...

yes I agree, breeding motoros would be for enjoyment only. but hey if you can get an extra couple of bucks here and there, why not?

my goal is to eventually accomplish a self sustaining hobby. I know I will never recoup all the money spent. but if I can make enough money to help pay for food or electric bills/equipment, I would be more than satisfied.

This is true, I sold two motoro pups for 50 each. And I tried to sell my "orange spot blue" 10 inch male for 150 down to 120. I decided to keep it.
