Trev- yea I love armatus, and decided to get another. He is eating prepared food too. He is around 10". I figured even if I loose it after a year, or so it is still worth it. But I'm hoping, with a drip and UV and not a huge ray in with it things could go different.
The ATF is a grow out it will be at least a year before he can join probably longer.

Shadow- I think it is TATF. the eel is huge 32-36" range. Nearly As big as my forearm in diameter. He is a pig too.. Lol
The silver dollars are about 6.5"

Most likely longer. Armatus growth is much faster. I would hate to see the TATF become Armatus lunch.
Whats the TATF eating on, is he off live? Get him on pellets or food you can stuff with pellets if he isnt on them. I drifted away from feeding my VATF pellets when he was on them, but just ordered some Massivore to get him back on them.
 
Well I don't have high hopes that armatus will live past another year or year and a half, so that's my plan growing the tatf out to replace him.
But maybe this arm will surprise me and if so I won't be putting them together for a long long time!

The tatf is eating smelt and tilipia a little, but I'm feeding feeders too.
I'll work on pellets soon.

DB, what do you think I should feed the armatus?

love the fire eel. makes me miss mine. it was huge but it got out of the tank and died when i was in hospital for a few days :(

No clue..... I just hope that someone figures something out soon, and takes good notes..... lol. Sure seems to me like they do better on live, but see no reason why pellet supplementation shouldn't give similar results. Any way you look at it, I'm pulling for you! You could restore hope to at least one guy here..... ;)
