LOL...I didn't like any of the advice I'm seeing here. First of all, check your water parameter. If everything is up to this meet. Like most fish, they need their sleep. So if the light has been on for quite some time. Let the fish catch up with their sleep and bump the temperature to 84-86 degrees. Flowerhorn is more relax with warmer water but just not too high. I've notice that with the lack of sleep, it can startle them a whole lot easier and stress them for a few days.
Try passing back and forth to your fish often. I always look at my fish at least 5 hours a day to keep my fish use to human or anything that passes by. Sometimes sudden lighting turning on and spooking them can break them into point where they think they are the prey. Being a fisherman and fish hobbyist, sometimes it plays a role together. And this goes for every fish I have experienced here. If they are scared or got some feeling about they are the prey. They will try to jump out to escape from the predator view.
Just do the usual water change to keep the water parameters stable and up to its meet. Do its regular feeding, and yes you might get to the point where it doesn't want to eat. It has happened with very scared and stressed flowerhorn. Bump the temperature up to it's comfortable point.
Next is check any signs for disease or infections. This would be your flowerhorn on your avatar that got injured right? Keep an close eye on it. As it may trigger something to your fish also. It should be fine in no time once it gains its trust from you again.
