How can you tell what a good grade FH is when your looking at 1-2" fish?

I think this is a helpful question.

At this size should I already be seeing more markings?

Can you tell if this fish is going to have a KOK or not?

Anybody who knows this stuff, I'd love to hear from you.

I've kept South and Central Americans for years now, this is my first FH. I've done some reading online, and talked to a few people that I trust on fish knowledge, but anything you guys can tell me would be appreciated.

Just for example, I was looking, and Elakoon's baby FH had more speckling. Is that a sign of better quality?

a few pics of better quality fry just for you to compare to..

as you can see .. even in the last pic.. these are small fry but have a lot of pearl and flowerline already

At this size should I already be seeing more markings? yes, a strong flowerline and pearling should be present in higher grade fhs

Can you tell if this fish is going to have a KOK or not? tough to tell at this point, although I would bet "no".

Before you do anything else, I would visit flowerhorncraze.com ... just sift through the threads and you'll educate yourself quickly and in no time you'll own a high quality FH.
