FH or trimac or FH?

It was bought from a random LFS. He is 30cm+. The fact that the black blotches are not well expressed (my view) keeps me from believing it is a trimac.

The black "eyes" don't mean much - there are quite a few Tris out there that carry more than 3-eyes on their bodies. I don't think that is an indication of whether the fish is hybrid or not.
I think that is a pure Trimac.

No what I meant is his marks looks too faint to me. In all the pure trimacs I have seen, the marks were bigger and more texturized.

I insist because here we have low grade FHs but a pure trimac was never seen.

There is no way to tell the genetics of a fish by looking at it. Unless you bought it from a very reputable source as a trimac, assume FH.

Everyone posting so far is just guessing. Does it look like a trimac? Yes. Does that mean it's a trimac? Sadly, no.

Definitely looks like a nice Trimac but I agree with modest Man,there is no way to be 100% sure just by looking at it.
