Might as well give it a shot, my fiance is trying to get a visa to come here and she just had an interview with the fraud center in the Philippines. She feels they think she paid me to marry her so she could get a green card. I don't know what to do, like if there is a way I can help out. They didn't even interview me here so I don't know why they're interrogating her so badly. We met through her family I am friends with, no mail order bride here, heh.

I don't see how they could stop her from leaving in the first place. Why do they have to know why she is coming here? Can she not go to Disneyland if she wanted to? Go their and get her if she is truly "your" woman.....

That interrogation is typical. Wait until you actually get married then apply for the actual green card the interrogation is worse.

Leaving isn't the problem it's coming here that is. Legal immigration bites, really heard to get tourist visa. It's a fiance visa so they need to know but I appreciate the advice. If this doesn't work out maybe I can get her into Mexico and then run the border with her....
Green card once your married is worse? Hmmm, that makes alot of sense....not. Do they usually give you a 2nd appointment at the fraud department though. She's kinda freaked out. Maybe they are picking on her b/c she's educated. Felt like punching somebody (but who?) after talking on the phone for an hour with that tone in her voice. She understands the concern and is somehow not angry, but feels degraded and depressed, lost her apetite. I think she mentioned she lost 5 pounds since Monday :( Here's a picture of us last year in Cebu, can't believe how goofy I looked....

You lucky bustard. Hope your luck doesn't run out.

You both learn Spanish, go by sea, get dropped off the Florida Keys, swim to nearest bridge, claim to be Cubans if caught and get automatic green cards. lol

Thanks, me too. We started talking in January 2006 and I visited July 06. So it's been a long wait :\ Hope she likes fish....They had 30G in their house but I'm up to 4 tanks already and would like more if I had a bigger house. Wow, that fish is cool.....oh he doesn't get along with the other ones I have? New tank, hehe. First it was bettas/tropicals, then Cichlids, then Perch, and lately Black Ghost Knife, been eyeballing Oscars too....

immigration laws are tough to keep people honest about there reasons to come to America.

Hey I'm just telling you the horror stories I've heard from my immigration lawyer.

I witnessed something like it too when I was waiting for my interview. They really grilled the couple that was a ahead of me. Then when it was my turn I was expecting something awful but the officer looked at my passport and said...."Oh! You're Canadian. You're almost pretty much American already" then he just asked a couple simple questions and I got stamped for approval. Pretty lucky I guess. I've heard stories like them asking random questions like "What color is the carpet is the living room?" It happened to one of his clients and one of them couldn't remember/answer and they were rejected for green card on the spot.

Getting just a visa is viewed as a temporary thing. A Green Card is a bit more permanent. More like 10 yrs and you can work in the USA too. So if a temporary visa is already hard to get then imagine how it would be trying to get one that last 10 yrs.

Now after you have the green card and want to apply for US citizenship that is a totally different story. By the time you have the green card you should have everything all lined up and in place and it should be smooth sailing from there.

As for me I haven't gone that far as to naturalizing to become an American. I'm still happy being Canadian :D

Your not even hugging her??? I hope she didn't show that picture to the Fraud Dept. :( You need better more believable pics in my opinion..

Why not move over there for a while to show them YOUR devotion??? That would make complete sense.. Or unless you are not devoted enough to pic up and bounce to your Fiance???

She might get lucky.. Form that side of the earth it is easier to get in than next door!! South americans that i work with took 5 years just to get a work or school permit.

And big reason they think your fake is likely because most marriages regardless of what the Dumb Amrica thinks are to get in:) And after 5 years it's over.. Not always.. but I have watched friends talk just like this ... And met their Brides through family as well as friends.. I have a friend in Spain right now going through the same stuff...

My suggestion is since "You are more free than she is :)" MOVE to her :0 She is the Love of your life and deserves to have her new Fiance or Husband over there backing her up .. It is the responsible husbandly thing to do.. Only if you really love her though.. if not then you will stay here and let her battle it out herself :) Just my opinion.
