Yea, they installed it in my neighborhood/house. I called to sign up for it and the guy on the phone gave me their slower speedsFiber is light yrs faster than coaxial or ethernet cabling but allot of these companies play games and lower the speeds on basic packages so they can turn around and charge more for the higher speeds/upgraded packages.

Still being done this way.Fios provides the router. Even then the fiber isnt run into the home its converted outside the house to either coaxial or ethernet. Possible they do it different now.
I think the biggest problem is the lack of competition. In NY and DE theres only one cable provider to choose from the other option is satellite. In some areas fios is also available but had this been a free market i bet the prices would be much lower.Yea, they installed it in my neighborhood/house. I remember a few yra ago congress was lobbied to step in and end the "monopoly" but we know how that goes smh
Im sure a decent amount of money exchanged hands on a golf course somewhere to leave the system as is lolThat’s the main problem.
I had that from an electric company before. TU energy was the only one to service our neighborhood. We were paying 16 cents a kw while other neighborhoods were paying 3-6 cents a kw. I could not be happier when we moved.I remember a few yra ago congress was lobbied to step in and end the "monopoly" but we know how that goes smh
