Hi MFKers,

I am glad to be back and able to showcase of awesome pics when I was having a short 'get away' in the tiny island called Sentosa in Singapore. This is the island where we have our Underwater World as well. I will introduce what I have taken with the pics I have taken:

This is hotel I am staying and the view of the Hotel facing the sea. Breath taking isn't it?:

Another side of the window view of the pool:

Now going to the Underwater World which is just next to the hotel I am staying. This is the front that greets you:

After the entrance, there is this huge cylindrical tank (about 2 storeys tall) housed some monster fishes. These are some big Tarpons:

A side view of one of the Tarpon:

Also in this tank, there is this pompret looking fish that keeps staring at me!:

Next, a nice huge reef tank. Awesome sight and I think this pic makes a good desktop wallpaper :P

Now we come to the fossil/jurassic/monster fish area:

Some Scats and Archer Fish tank in a brackish tank setup:

More scats, there are feeding at the bottom:

Also a trigger fish in this tank:

Now the main monster tank I drooled over and over! The first occupant, a 4ft long walking catfish! The LFS here in Singapore sell these juvenile guys as fish feeders!:

watermark.php

Also, a huge motoro ray basking at the bottom:

watermark.php

Hah, a overfed Red Tail Cat. Just being lazy:

There are some huge pacus in the tank too!:

There is also an Alligator Gar in that tank:

Now that you have gotten back your breath, here are some cute tanks made to celebrate the Chinese New Year period. They have nice chinese paintings as the tank backgrounds for the tanks. Therefore the fishes in the tanks make the painting comes 'alive'! In this tank, house a nice asian X-back Gold Arowana:

Close up shot of the Aro:

See the clear water reflection of this gold bar:

There is another tank of such, but housing some small KOIs:

These are whats called 'Sea Angels'. They come from the deep sea and glows in the dark:

watermark.php

Sorry for the blurred pics as they are really tiny:

There are some really rare and awesome crabs on display as well. This is the coconut crab:

Now, here are REAL monsters. The Japanese Spider Crabs, they can grow up to 8ft in size! These guys are already in their monster form:

watermark.php

One of them, staring at me intimidating me:

Another cute looking crab, the Snapper Crab:

I guess this needs no introduction, the Sea Dragon:

Another huge marine tank, with the unicorn trigger with some Lion fishes at the back:

A nice huge Emperor Angel:

Now we are in the Underwater tunnel. Naturally all the fishes are HUGE:

As we are departing the venue, I was looking into the pond which is outside the Underwater World, and man, was I shocked. I saw a school of FW Tilapias sharing the pond with some huge sea turtles! Here, you see some of then nibbing the algae off from the shell of one of the turtle!

did the ally gar and the arapaima look like they got along? I have always wondered if they were compatible animals...

I pretty much am sure they do get along fine...infact alot of the Sea world or Underwater Worlds I went arount the globe always have them together in the same tank as exhibits.
