fig 8's, from all I've read, do best in light brackish (yes with sea salt) tanks. I think the recommended SG was 1.008-1.010.

They require low-mid brackish water. Use a marine salt mix. I like Instant Ocean personally.
Thise African cichlid salts are used to raise hardness and do nothing for actual salinity.

he is brackish and you should have 1 tsp. of salt per gal or more
