Fight it out? Chocolate and uaru.

i've never heard of Uaru's being that aggressive. If you really want to put him in his place, add a good sized amphilophus or Parachromis. Any fish from either of those genus's are gonna be the boss of your Uaru. I mean how big is the Uaru, that is important to

Boss? You might as well euthanize the uaru if your going to do that. It would be more humane

I would seperate the uaru for a month or so. Then try to reintroduce. If he acts up send him on his way. Sometimes fish simply don't work out.

i didn't mean that, i meant as a temporary thing, otherwise let the uaru kill the chocolate. He asked how to help the chocolate cichlid, it is still a big tank. If the Uaru is a dominant fish, then temporarily stop him from being the dominant fish. That is all, I didn't mean to sound like just kill the Uaru

Parachromis don't dominate they kill. Unless something is strong or durable enough to keep them from doing so. Amphilophus and Parachromis are on a whole other level of aggro than the 2 species mentioned.

This Uaru has a new home in a 200gal tank with 2 oscars and convict or something. He was trying to boss around the oscars but all is ok now. This Uaru was 8" and just a jerk! He would go after the silver dollars for no reason.

Now I have the chocolate he is so cool and just a chill fish. He never looks for trouble. I named him buggy. I am growing out 2 severums that are mild mannered. They will go in with buggy in a few month or so depending on how fast the little red one grows.
