I sold my 125 gallon tank less then 6 months ago and I am now regretting it. I sold it because a 6 foot tank was just too big for my living room. I figured I would just learn how to keep a semi peaceful community tank, but I just can't shake the urge to own aggressive fish. I currently have a 60 gallon with angelfish and livebearers. It is a nice setup but it doesn't make me completely satisfied. I used to love jack dempsey's but I gave up on them because they were too skittish. I really like Red devils due to their color and attitude. I just have to get an aggressive fish again. I am now looking for a 75 to 110 gallon tank that is 4 feet long so that I can get a Red Devil or flowerhorn. Has anyone else ever had this problem where you just feel like peaceful fish just won't cut it?

I was in a similar position but the other way round I had a south american community for 2 years with approx. 25 fish but something was missing. I sold all my community fish recently and put 3 juvenile Channa Asiatica in the tank.....and havent looked back. I love the predetory / aggressiveness too much to go back to a community now

Idk what it is but I like to watch a community tank, but I am just so drawn to killer fish. There is just something impressive about a fish with an attitude. I think I also need both I just need to keep the tank size in proportion to the size of my house.

Well I had a 180g all aulonocara tank for 5 years, went to 90g salt aggressive awesome tank (frog fish are awesome), then to a 62g reef then 125g community tank, I could care less about these fish they just are not interesting... I tryed😀. My local fish store had some champsichromis...all my community fish are gone and starting over with Malawi tank. I think it's just progression of finding what you like. Or I'm just indecisive😝

ive never kept community fish lol... predatory or aggressive only!-)

I've tried African community (which isn't all that peaceful) at one time and quickly realized how much I miss keeping wet pets. It's one of those things you don't fully appreciate till it's gone. Luckily for us, it's just fish and can easily switch over.

Yeah that's true. I didn't appreciate the options my 125 gallon gave me until it was gone. Now I'm having to find another tank, but this time imma keep it under 5 feet. I just gotta decide what kind of fish I really wanna keep in there. It's gonna be between an Oscar, Red Devil, Flowerhorn or a Severum. Which would you pick?

I still like my SA cichlid tank, has a lot of activity.but your right about a wet pet,I think I will always need a solo tank.I had RD he was great.trimac-really miss that fish,grrrr....(2012 power outage).the only fish that survived when I lost power hybrid jagXtexas in my avatar.I would get a 90 gal.has same footprint of 75,just taller

Of course I'd go with a rd or fh.. Can't go wrong in a 75/90g tank.
