Did you read that link on F8s?

Also, be sure to set up & cycle the tank at the SG the puffer is in at the shop you will be purchasing it from. Do you know how to fishless cycle a tank?

ya one last question is sand ok for the gobies and the puffer

Yes, if you read my article, aragonite sand is recommended, to maintain a steady pH of around 8 & high alkalinity.

lol yep I missed a digit for SG and switched a G to a B for the Goby. I probably shouldn't post that late at night.

Suggested stocking should be what Pufferpunk put up there. You could try to put in some Guppies as well since they tolerate brackish water... Granted they may become healthy snacks now and then but I like having a fish at the very top and my puffers like tracking them. Plus they don't really add to the bio-load much.

To give you an idea on tank setup here is my 1 day old fangs setup. Most of it was in a 10 gallon snail and shrimp grow out tank. All the plants in this would work in brackish except the sword and stems. I would swap the Flourite for Aragonite sand or gravel. I know the tank below isn't much but I like to under plant a tank and let things fill out.

I have my snails and shrimp in my planted tank which I will use to help feed my puffer. If you have a second tank I suggest stocking it with Ramshorn Snails if you don't have something in there that will eat them. MTS are the one snail to avoid. MTS shells are so tough puffers often choke or get a blockage from them.
