I have a 75g with Blood Parrots, geo's, clown knife, senegal, and I have 4 filaments. They are getting huge. Really healthy as well. Originally got them as dithers, they are awesome, never thought I d say that about barbs. How big are they gonna get?

5-6". Clown knives and bichirs are a risk with them.

My CK is about 14" and my senegal is around 10". Still an issue? So far, Ive never had an issue. Its been about 6 mos.

Your clown knife still has a chance to make it to 20" and over. By that time, it may eventually chomp down your barbs. The only reason I worry about sens is their tendency to deathroll their prey once they have the opportunity. Both are unpredictable.

My CK is gonna have to go to larger home soon. I ve had him for quite some time, and that will suck!! The senegal is fed very well and actually the filaments are around 3-4" now and extremely fast. Thats why I posted. I never knew they would get so big. Beautiful fish and they have really made the tank a community. I will keep an eye on the senegal, but the fils seem much too large.

Def. didn't do your research, maybe next time you should find out how big a fish gets before you buy it... tsk tsk.... That kind of stuff you can find on google all the time, plus you will need a bigger tank for almost all of those fish as it's overstocked right now!

As you can see this conversation was for those who are familiar with fishkeeping. But you are welcome in as well.

I have had filaments before. Mine would max out at 6 inches. Although I have seen males in fact now at my local fish store there are 2 males that are every bit 8 inches! How about that cool green sheen those guys get. I use to keep four as the main fish in my 40 gallon. They are fast as hell so maybe they can stay away from the predators you got in there.

Genius, that tank is already overstocked. Anyone can see that, you expect to keep all those fish together? Geos, blood parrots, clown knife( Which get to be 3 feet), sen.(gets up to 14") and 6" dithers? You are definitely gonna need a bigger tank, compared to my 4 fish? You my friend are the one who needs to learn fishkeeping.

For me the combo of Geo's and filament barb's was very bad. You'll likely be OK though. I would say your biggest worry would be the CK nabbing one of them at night.
