Yes it is a piraiba. My question is what variant of piraiba is this? Suriname or peru? I know there are variants of piraibas im just not sure what this one is. Thankss

Peru, 100%. Sloping heads & deeper body. Also everything Suriname usually expensive, if the range between 150-250usd, its cheap its a Peru. Where I'm from, Suriname piraiba goes for 450-700usd.
Just going to throw this out there, there are other possibilities besides just Suriname and Peru as well since Brachyplatystoma Filamentosum can be from Brazil and Guyana as well although I've not heard of any being imported from Guyana yet. Price is usually a good indicator as mentioned if unsure of exportation location
Thanks for the info. I got this fila for cheap only 130usd. Giantfishkeeper101 says this guy is from peru. Either way i dont mind where this guy is from its still a piraiba thanks!
