Well, i would think it needs completely different environment to what it is at currently. How big is it currently? It depends on what it can feed on. Don't be fooled if your fish are still after alive after some time, they aren't necessarily the best hunters. I wouldn't say any of them are safe

so does he kill big fishes?how can he kill clown knife(14inch),bichir(8inch) leopard pleco(6inch)?? he's maybe 2 feet long...he has a small head i dont think he can swallow my bigger fishes ...help please!!!

he needs brackish water so he needs a different tank. The only thing he could eat is the pleco. I would separate him if I were you. Awesome looking snake though!

birchirs are shaped just right for a snake to swallow too.

Do these snakes have unhingeable jaws like others? i.e. able to consume bigger prey?

To be technical, no snake can unhinge its jaws. This is a common misconception. They merely spread the two separate pieces of their lower jaw to swallow large prey.

And to answer your question, file snakes can probably do this just as well as most snakes, although they may unable to stretch it as far. In any case, I wouldn't rule your bichir in the "safe" zone just yet. Like softturtle said, a long slender animal like an eel, worm, or another snake is the easiest prey for a snake to swallow. I agree with everyone here; probably need to separate him into his own set-up.

thanx to you guys maybe i would just have to give him to a friend of mine..once ive heard that this is a constrictor I now realized how they can kill a larger prey
