Picked up my my new sump yesterday that I will run on my 500g tank, it's a 4x2x2 wet/dry and have been filling it slowly with scrubbies and bio balls.
So far I am 250 pot scrubbers and 500 bio balls in and I haven't made a dent in the thing, I am going to have to get more bio media.
I will post a pic of the acrylic drip tray that took what seemed like hours to hand drill each hole, all 475.

will there be a drip tray over them?

One custom drip tray, 4.5mm acrylic sheet, 59cm by 80cm all hand drilled.
The sump has an angled drip tray so the water can flow more evenly over the media (20mm drop start to finish).

I know, I have about 25cm of room but I may put the sump on coasters so I can move it.
I would have plenty of room it the frame allowed for the sump to sit on the floor.

I need more bio media to get this "THING" full............
It's swallowed 240 scubbies $80 and 500 bio balls $60 and I have 250 more but it's only a quarter full!!
I am looking into 750 pot scrubbers for overseas but I am just waiting for a sample before I order them.
Why aren't you closer Zenzzo...

Raise up the bottom tray. It would be better for your media not to be submerged. Then you would not need so much either.

see if you can track down some "hog hair" filter media.. it comes in rolls and in sheets..

just so you can see what im talking about..
