Filstar XP 1 Opinions

I am thinking of getting a new filter for my 30 gallon, I was thinking of getting either a Fluval or an XP canisters because of the past experiences and the price. Fluval 205 is $90 and the XP 1 is $60, I have never used a small XP filter, any opinions?

I honestly like HOB filters better, I cant seem to get my XP3 to work well, and its kind of messy to maintain. If you need a canister I would say that the XP would be a better buy though.

I have a XP3 on my tank.

Very quiet and very powerful.

Great filter.

Most old Fluval models suck and have been known to leak, produce lound noise, and easily damaged.

I've got XPI and XPIII...great filters, but have problems with circulation. I don't use the bar any more, just the nozzle...better circulation. I would actually use the XPII...you would get MUCH better circulation, and it would help keep the tank top notch. Plus the XPI doesn't have very much space for filter media where as the XPII does. If you do the XPII you wouldn't have to add a power head.... Magan has a XPI on her 30gal...and I had to add a powerhead to help with circulation..

I have a 29g, and I'm running a xp2. LOVE it. Would recomend it to everyone.
