almost all cannisters are going to have too much flow for a 30 gallon planted tank. If I WAS going to still use one...I'd stick with a fluval 205 and a spray bar return. Eheims are nice filters but they are overhyped and overpriced IMO...

Hrmmm you do realize that you can get a Eheim 2026 pro-II for less than a Fluval 405 now? I know which one I'd take between the 2.

If you want silent operation, rock solid build and high reliability, you can't go wrong with Eheim.

They still sell the 2222 pro Eheims? That'd work great with an in-line heater. Guess there's always a 2213 if you want something without media baskets!
