Filter floss

Do any of you use filter floss in your larger tanks? How often do you change it out, and in what type of filter do you put it in? You use polyfil? Pinky filter pads? I like seeing what other fish keepers do, since what I've learned so far is from the internet and my own experiences trial and error

Use filter floss from Walmart. Use it in my sump for my 120g wide.

I go to the bedding section of my local supermarket. They have cheap pillows which to be honest I would never sleep on, they're awful. But their insides are 100% polyester filling which is brilliant for my filters. Just toss and replace.

Yep, replace it when it starts noticeably impleading the flow of water. Frequency is going to be different for every tank and every setup.
