Hi I need a new pump for my 130 gallon tank. I was thinking of fluval 406 what do you all say to that ? Any other suggestions ? And if yas, why ?
Thanks

fluval 406 +a big hang on back will probably be plenty

I have an aquatop CF-400 with UV, best $16.99 I ever spent (amazon had a mis-print and honored it when I snagged one), it runs great. Also in terms of canisters I'd look at either an eheim or an FX5 for that sized tank.

I would do a Fluval FX5 that would be good in that for sure!!!!!!

I love my aquatop cf400. Also look into the odyssea cfs500. Looks like a fx5 but cost a 1/4 of the price

Yeah and 1/4 of the performance too.

100gals and up need a big can or a sump/wetdry, 406 would be ok on a 75 with a backup ac110. Id go 2262 or fx5 if u have the money maybe 2, buy the best and it will run for ages. You get what you pay for in this game.

Every filter thread turns into fx5 is awesome crap. I know too many people who have 100+ gallon tanks and not one uses an fx5. They use emp400's, ac110's, aquatop canisters, cascade canisters and rarely change media and have perfect water and very healthy fish. I have a aquatop 400, aqueon 75, and a cascade 1000( replacing with ac110 to make room under my stand) and change media twice a year. Op just read up and choose what ya want.
