Filter for 130 gallons

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yes its for up to 100 gallons but you could buy 2 and be set but I prefer a hob to go with my canister filters. I use my aquatop 400 for biological filtration only. The fx5 is great but I like having 2 filters on each of my tanks

I know what u mean, I use ac110 as well, but customer feedback talks, thus the reason u see so many "fx5 owns all threads!"

Obviously if cash isn't an option fx5 or eheim, and if ur on a budget the aquatop will work.... I'm on a budget BTW but I had to have fx5, the pump acts as a wc, it purges air auto every 24 houes, micro chip monitors flow and adjust impeller speed, 5.3 gallons water capacity, need I say more?

I agree with u that its a great filter and you get what you pay for. If I had my choice I would go eheim but they are pretty pricey. I'm on a budget aswell with a kid and working on buying a house and a car I'm always looking for new goodies to put into. I think when these threads get started gthe poster should make it aware if money in no option so the larger eheims and fx5 are the obvious choices.

I have a 120 and just added a Aquatop CF-500UV and it has made an significant difference in water quality and clarity. I was running 2 AQ70s and magnum 350 replaced the 350 with it and I really like the quality of the canister plus it adds the UV light. Rated for up to a 175 and seems to have great water flow, but I did not like the Spray Bar so I swapped it out for the Power Head from the Magnum and like it much better. for 129.99 shipped I was very satisfied. My brother has the Filstar xp4 and this seems to have better flow and construction to his. Aquatop is ok by me.

Thanks for all you guys reply . It give me something to work whit.
I have read about the fx5 that there is big problems whit they get air in the system all the time ?

Right now I might think that on top of the ac110 I Allready have then start whit a fluval 406. And if that is not enough then get a aquastop also for also gettin the uv.
Is that totally crazy ?

Air only gets in there if u let it, don't clean media, fine polishing pads, dumping water straight into the tank while its running etc. I've had bubbles on mine once, and it was cuz the polishing pads were clogged.

I have (2) filstar rena xp3's on both of my tanks, 125 & 150. I found them on amazon for $119 each about 6 months ago, you will also need (2) 300 watt heaters for your tank
