filter for 150 gallon

About 8 piranhas I'm going to start them
Small though. How big of a sump for 150 how difficult are they to make, how much would it cost to make?, and can anyone give me some links for more info on sumps?
 
man idk if i could build a sump a little bit too complicated for me so im probably just going to go with a fx5 and a HOB
 
I use a external pond filter with a small pond punp for mine. The filter sits on top of my 240gal. with rbp.The pond pump is a cheap small fountain pump. I use to use 2 big over the top filter but the rbp waste was too much for it. Sump will work but you have to drill holes in your tank. No overflow box. Piranhas might bump into it. Stoping it since its a 150gal. creating a water mess or even kill your piranhas. No oxygen. The pump for the sump also uses alot of watt. Pond pump use less watt. And sump setup are noisy too. Piranhas are to messes for canister filter. It will plug the canister filter up and brake the pump. Small pond pumps are cheap $20-30 and you can make your own filter to put on top of it. Use bucket or a large container. Anyway if your going to just keep 2 than anything will work. But with more fish or later when they get bigger you will see more waste and mess.
