The tank will be 48Wx18Hx48L, what's the best way to filter this?
I have an aqua clear 110 for the 90 gallon I currently have, should I just buy another aqua clear 110 and use both for the tank? Or is there a better (or cheaper :D) method?

I believe there is a website that sells AC110's for like 40 bucks. Search around the forums. I saw a thread about it a week or so ago.

Cool tank size though.

Thankyou, I'm actually thinking of making it 24" tall, so what is the best method of filtration for this? Should be a little less than 240 gallons after considering the thickness of the wood.
Also, is this big enough to hold a male dovii for life, and my jag pair (if he'll tolerate them)?

Honestly, I am a sump man. I love me some sumps.
You should be good with the fish. The lxwxh are good.

Would a fluval fx5 work alone?

I'de put 2.
You might be able to get away with one if all you are going to do are those three fish.

Anyone else have any opinions on the matter?

Yeah, I'd even do the dovii by himself :]
So the the one should be good for the 3 fish?
How do you set up a sump? And what would be good for a tank my size?

One should be ok I guess. I would wait for others to voice their opinion though.
Two heads are better than one. Three heads are better then two...etc, etc.

For sumps I go with the 1/3 rule of thumb. So 1/3 of 240 is 80 gallon sump.
You could probably get away with 1/4, possibly. 60 gallon sump.
Or actually you might be able to get away with less given the fish you have chosen.

But if you are new to this sort of thing, I would probably stick with the canisters and read up on sumps.
