Filter for diy tank?

Remember that pond filters don't remove as small of a particulate as aquarium filters.
 
did you buy that filter cause its gone? sumps are awesome for sure but they're more expensive. cause you have to buy a high quality pump that can handle the head height and last the extra pressure. not to mention the cost of the sump its self. what i'm doing with my tank, which is about the smae size, is have an in-tank filter,to minimize pump cost, and heat loss since it's going in the garage. i'm gonna have a containersit on the bottom come out of the top an inch or two. with some holes just below the water level for a gravity feed, then a pump at the bottom to pump it back out. i'm doing an autocad mok up of it now, i'll post a pic of it in a few hours.
