Filter help?

What kind of filter is needed for marine fish, is it an external filter or can you use an internal filter?

Thanks i dont think i can afford the external filters so if i have a couple internal filters instead should that be fine?

i would say both, whether its marine or fresh doesnt matter unless the filter has a heating element

Please keep in mind that SW is very expensive, if you can afford a good filter right now you might want to wait. The best filter for SW is a sump so you have a place to put a protein skimmer and a UV sterilizer. You also want to be using RO/DI water.
