I've had an FX5, Eheim 2075, Magnum 350, and a sump.
I still have the sump, and have spent hundreds of dollars on canister filters I don't use. on a side note I did end up using the magnum 350 again as a make-shift carbon reactor.
If I could do it all again I would never have bought a canister filter. Their ease of set-up is incredible, but even buying filter pads off amazon for dirt cheap adds up quickly.
earlier today I posted an update of what I just added to my sump. It looks like crap, because I'm still trying to figure exactly how to plumb it. so that's why it's in what looks like an exploded view.
