hey guys i have a canister hooked up to my 125 and im wondering if it matters where the intake and the output need to be. right now i have the intake next to my powerhead at the corner of the tank and the output is in the middle of the tank. does it really matter where they are?

aslong as all the water is flowing into then out the external. make sure this aint hapning....

this is just me... but when i set up a new can. fil. i used blackwater treatment in an eye dropper to follow the water current. its going to be different for every setup but generally i try to get them on the complete opposite side...

yeah cause the problem is my intake and output hoses arnt that long. so i can only get one on the end of the tank and the other in the middle.

mine was like that . but i went to the local hardware shop n bought sum tubing that was right size and bought connector if needed. jubalee clips are a god send aswell hahaha

lol ill have to look for some new tubing. this tubing is so horrible it barely bends too lol its like a metal pipe haha so horrible but ill have to bend it around and loosen it up. lol im not used to canisters this is my first one ive ever had. after i unplugged it i unclipped the top and water spilled everywhere haha gotta learn the tricks to these things

the way i have my tank plumbed for my sump is that i have my intake on the far left and my return on the far right, just saw the new water gets circulated throughout the whole entire tank. same goes with my canister, i just bought separate tubing for the return to make it longe.r

That's how I do it too.

haha well actually i have my powerhead in there now and it circulates the water throughout the tank. so i dont think it matters where the intake and output are. and i have a cascade 1000 along with an undergravel filter(powered by the powerhead and airstones as well) and ill soon be putting my aqueon 30 and my rio 110 from my other tank on as well.
