filter intake and output location

I have been switching to the black non kink pond tubing (I bought it online but have seen it at homedepot or lowes). It is so much better than the cheap vinyl tubing that always kinks! And I don't have to look at the algae buildup on the inside of the clear vinyl tubing.

I'm going threw the same problem with my new Eheim 2262 on my 110g tank, Would it be best to have the intake on one corner and the return on the opposite side end?
I think even if you have it on the same side as the return and maybe a small pump on the other side on a lower level will create a good circulation.
