Filter leaking

I CANT DOSE SALT ITS A PLANTED TANK!!!! I RAISED THE TEMP TO 86* NOT HELPING! WHAT DO I DO????

Pull the plants, salt the tank. Raising the temp by itself is bad, it speeds up the reproductive cycle. raising the temp (that high) with meds is also bad, unless you heavily increase aeration. Salt and high temps are the only thing that have worked for me in the past. I would also review your tank care methodology and eliminate any possible sources of cross-contamination to prevent such a devastating outbreak in the future.

Sorry for your losses mate, i love my plecs and would hate to see them go :(

But will my plants 'survive' meaning not flourish but not die either if I dose 1tbsp per 10gal of Aquarium salt?
Their not specifically salt tolerant some might be though

Anubias -3 different sp
Pennywort
Duckweed
Crystalwort
Hornwort- 2 different sp
Water wisteria
Tiger lotus
Aponogeton capuronii
Jungle val
Ludwigia - 2 diff sp
Rotala indica
Watersprite
Christmas moss
Weeping moss
Java moss
Java fern
Cryptocynes - 3 diff sp
Frogbit
Vallisneria - 2 diff sp
And a dozen other unidentified supposedly rare plants
+ ungodly amount of green algae

I would just use one of the dye based medicine and keep the temp the same. Salt is not the only solution folks, nor the holy grail of iCh cures.

Thanks for clatifying. And of these two brands (aquari-sol, nox-ich) which would you recommend? The nox-ich contains formalin, malachite green, and standard sodium chloride (salt) and aquari-sol contains copper salts. Keeping in mind of live plants being in the tank. I currently dose aquari-sol. I also heard the nox-ich is only for scaled fishes and it will hurt catfishes? True/false? I have no invertebrates I already know copper will kill them (molting process).

Use half dose for catfish..or use full dose and change water if disress is noted.remove all carbon from filter and do a large water change prior to first dose. Vacuum the gravel bed is also good.

Well to late for that. I've been dosing aquari-sol for the past 4days. *Should I stop?* It contains coppersalts. My plants don't look like there dieing. Oh and copper is a trace element its good for plants right?

Ok I've made up my mind. In 30mins or less I will be using nox-ich on my livestock. My ebjd is on his last leg and I can't afford to wait any longer. If mixing malachite green with coppersalts is not ok I need to know NOW!
