I am not going to tell you the answer unless you post pics of your nice new tank :)

lol

actually. I run 2 XP3's and an AC110 on my 150, but thats a bit overkill. I am prepping for big fish though.
Only pic I have is on my phone. I can send to other phones, but I don't get internet. If you can post it here for me, I'll send you the pic. :naughty:

diy fx5 cannister... like the one ima make. their is a diagram in the DIY section :D
I'll go look into that. About how much is it costing you?

1 Fx5 is al you would need. Some Eheims would work as well. I always like to see 3-5 cycles per hour. Since it doesn't seem like you have a heavy stock list, you won't need a high turn over rate.

I'm not sure where I'm going with the tank- it wouldn't be only the SAL and oscar. I just threw that out there to give an idea of the bioload.

Glass or acrylic??
Drill it, or have it drilled and make yourself a sump..you won`t be sorry you did.

be careful with snails and fx5's and technically all canisters baby snails love to make them their homes.

Glass, and heavy as hell. I'm still new to this thing, so I don't want to mess around with the tank and commit irreversible error.

I was kidding about the snails. :-)

No where near overstocked, Depending on the size of the plecos a decent canister should be ok

To clarify, I was not planning on plecos or snails- that was a joke as to the adequacy of using livestock to keep the tank clean.

commit irreversible error
Drilling it yourself..only to find out it`s tempered..as the bits and pieces crunch under your feet :-(
Combination of canister and HOB would be my other choice..still, the advantages of a DIY sump will still be my #1 pick.
Good luk to ya
