Filter Noise

Ok so i recently moved a 55 gallon tank into my bedroom so my La Ceiba Yellowhead's can grow out their latest spawn in peace before i move them back to a 125. I am running an Emperor 400, Penguin 200, and a sponge filter on the 55. The power filters are making WAY too much noise, and I guess I didn't notice how loud they were until i moved the tank into my bedroom. Does anyone have any alternate power filter suggestions that are silent? I moved the tank Saturday and I have not got a good night sleep since

Put a brick on the intake tube of your 400, that's what fixed mine! The rubber on the impeller seems to wear down somehow and loosens the entire thing up.

the ac 70 -or 110s are much quieter ...and at least as effective

I've never tried AC's perhaps i have an excuse to get one now lol

I would go canister if you want quiet. I had emps, penguins, and ac's. All ended up loud at some point. If you can do a canister I would go Eheim. The classics are cheap and dead silent.

acs are really supioror to all other hobs, can. would be nice but do you want to invest 150-200 to filter alittle tank?

Good point, I might just have to hold out until my next tank project to get one. My other two larger tanks are already set as far as filters go.
