Hello
I am setting up a 30 gallon tank . I want to put it directly against the wall as its going to be set up in my snake room where stands are against the wall.
I will be picking up stand Sunday.

my concern is the weight of filter on side tank panel .Anyone see anything wrong with doing that or no big deal?

Light will be hanging light and tank cover will be made at local glass place so thats not an issue.

Thanks

Should work fine. Most people put the filters on the back corner of the tank. I dont think that moving the filter just a few inches further away will make any significant difference. If the filter is large enough for the tank, it will circulate ALL the water anyway.

i have a 30g long too, and i have it on the back corner, but i dont see why it wouldnt work on the side

Thanks everyone. I have never seen it on side and thus wasn't sure if bad idea .

I will now use it as I had planned.

Not only will it be fine on the side, it will work GREAT there too. When you see how much better it works being on the side, you will wonder why more people aren't doing it that way. (There is an overwhelming fear of 'dead spots', but you won't have any.)

If you aren't worried about looks then I totally agree. Discharging the water across the length of the tank is a huge bonus.

I would have never considered that water extending the length of tank made much difference .

I was worried about weight but now not in the least. I will post pics when tank is running with fish.

Thanks again
