filter setup question

i have a 29 gallon planted tank. i have an aqua clear 30 i belive and it seems to be doing ok i guess. just wondering what would be a good filter for a planted tank of this size. i want to keep the surface of the water mellow as to not lose alot of the co2 in the tank... any help would be appriciated

If you wanted to keep the surface of the water mellow you could use a small canister filter and put the return under the surfice of the water or use one of those in-tank filters for newts ect... But you would have to make sure there is enough O2 for the fish.

I believe the two plants in the front left part of the tank are not true aquatics... I'm pretty sure they are 'dracanena' plants, will eventually rot.

if thats all the fish you plan to put in there you could just put a songe filter on the powerhead and call it done..

sponges are great for breeder or fry tanks but I don't think they look good in a show tank. You might be able to hide it behind the ship though.
