Filter socks with wet dry?

No pads under the sock and I made some type of extension to go down into the sock so splashing was not an issue.

Here is a pic of it. This 110 gallon sump filtered a 180, 135, 90 and 75. I had an elevated light defuser with a few layers of sponge pads in the first chamber where the overflows go. I would grab a little 1 gallon Pail stick my arm in with the tank still running. Yank them out put them into the bucket and head for the sink. Rinse the crap out of them. I did this once a week and it took 5 - 10 mins.

My tower had filter Floss and bio balls and some sintered glass media.
