I get mine from jehmco, and when they get plugged, I bleach them overnight (the bleach oxidizes organic matter), and let them dry in the sun. Just in case there is Cl2 residue, little rinse and add a little sodium thio or calcium thio with the socks in a bucket, and back in the sump. I always have some clean and waiting, while others are on working.
