  • Total voters
    92
Also, I have a 29g tank with an Eleite Hush 35 filter at 130gph.
tank turn over rate at 4.4827586........................
4.5 times an hour.

My 90 GALLON HAS 2 ac 300'S AND 1 ac 500,FOR A TOTAL OF 10+ TURNS PER HOUR.1100 GPH TOTAL:):):):) IF I HAD THE LOOT I'D ADD A FLUVAL 405!!!!!!!!!! AND FILL IT WITH STRAIGHT BIO-MEDIA!!!!!!!CAN'T BEAT THAT,NO SUCH THING AS TOO MUCH FILTRATION,TOO MUCH CURRENT,BUT NOT FILTRATION

60gal = 7.5x per hour with only 2 baby dats and 1 male motoro pup

100gal = 4x per hour with 9 piranhas.

150gal = 7x per hour with 4 bichirs.

400gal = 5x per hour with all my monsters.

:popcorn: Although these totals are somewhat subjective estimates based on mfgr. ratings, they are in the ballpark.
125g - 9.5 times
75g - 10.1 times
55g - 18.1 times
29g - 20.6 times
Extra filtration isn't a necessity but it can't hurt. ;) "T"

Going off the manufacturers gph specs is useless...

I measured the actual flow rate of my fx5 after 2 months in my tank full of media... 660g/h!

i also have 2 internal filters for bio and current, plus a large sponge filter.

mine does 5 i wasn't sure which to vote for so i went with 3-5 to have a conservative guess

I'd go more with the Piranha tank

I agree, it's tough to over do filtration. Play it safe!
