hi all if you didnt read my last thread im new to fish n all that im sure you get that a lot so here goes i have a 35l tank (i know not monster i also have a 100l again i know not monster but still) and i just had my ex cop cos i was cleaning out the filter every week sometimes twice a week is this wrong? I realise twice is a lot but i added some bogwood for my upsidedown catfish and it turned my water a nasty brown if i cant clean the filter should i just stick to small water changes?

in that tank i have 3 corys 1 upside down cat 6 harlequins and a male beta.

as with my last thread thank you in advance unless you gonna be rue if so dont bother its a forum get over it

No need to clean your filter unless it becomes clogged from too much wastes. Your driftwood released tannic acids which most fish will be more than delighted to have in their tank. Either small water changes or placing a carbon in your filter will help remove the tannins. Frankly, I do not find it annoying nor harmful. It can benefit your fish's health in the long run.
