what would be a good filter for a 55gallon salt with lots of live rock and a 29gallon salt with a little live rock? also what should i keep it at like the salt level

Ok first in a salt tank the live rock and live sand is the filtration. I would use a HOB skimmer on the 55 and 29. Then you caould add some powerheads for flow and you are pretty much done. Do not use any "filter floss, foam etc" It will just build up Nitrates.

yea i knew the live rock kept the tank going but i dont need anything else there is a pump in both tanks and thats it i have a hob filter i used for my freshwater is that what you mean or do you mean an actual skimmer? so i dont need to add an actual filter to the tank? once i get my sg to 1.025 i can add fish?

here are some pics of the 55gallon

Here is a link to a good protein skimmer for the money.

If you are going to do fish only you can have your spg at 1.018 but if u put inverts in it then 1.023. No bio anything just live rock and live sand. Powerheads for flow and a protein skimmer to remove the waste. You can use a HOB filter for carbon just change it once every month and clean the carbon bag.
