As long we are talking about overhead filters, I have an important question, What about the weight of the tank? How do you support your tank? If you put it on the tank itself, What is the max weight the glass an hold safely?

For my 240 the filter itself weighs 45#, with water maybe 100#-120# depending on the tank size depends on how big the filter needs to be. a 30 gallon tank would need only a large tupperware container where as a 150 much larger but also thicker glass, and more area to distribute the weight over.

Long story short as long as you dont put a 400# OHF then the tank will support it

that the almost exact setup i have. it cost me 80bucks, but i bought from a very expensive place.
