Filtering a 125gal

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
go with the fx5 man, you wont regret it! $234 on amazon if u can find a cheaper one on ebay! Also in the event you end up upgrading, you'll have a filter that can handle the job.

I sniped my brand new FX5 for 192.00 plus 26 shipping a few weeks ago. I run an Xp3 with sponges and carbon and the FX5 mostly bio....Very happy wth the system!

Could someone with an FX5 actually measure it? I'm not sure if the posted dimensions of 16” are the widest measurements or what. (like includes the handles or something. If turned might fit.) My doors are 15-3/8" wide and 19-1/2" high. Will it go in and out?

Also, I checked eBay. Not so good on the Rena prices but the 2217 are $145ish. The FX5's are low as well but still not sure it would fit.

mine measures 16.5" from the ground to the 8 knobs. and basket is around 12" in diameter if u dont count the motor. U can always go motor in first or motor facing you when u put it in.

i would go cascade 1500 its kinda cheap and very dependable in my experience:D

I just want to be sure, the FX5 would easily fit in and out of my 15-3/8" wide cabinet doors?

The 16" measurement is from the side of the canister to the end of the motor that sticks out. (Where the drain is???)

Thanks,

Sheldon
