Filtering tank with only sponge filters

Sponges are fine for bigger tanks. I used to run my 150 with just sponge filters for filtration. The tank is heavily stocked with 16 gars and 5 niger catfish. Just have to clean the tank more often to keep up with the waste.

I value the sponge filter over all others! I run sponge filters in every tank I own. The largest tank I have that uses sponges exclusively is a 70G (four of the #5 sponges).

sponge only works for any size tank . for bigger tanks and bio loads run them stacked on a powerhead ,just like aclockworkorange said.
