What would be the best filtration for a 180g RBP tank. I will have 7-9 rbp's in there it will be great. Cant wait for those feeding frenzee's 2 happen. it will be great.:nilly: :nilly:

I wouldn't even play around. Pygos are messy eaters, i would get fluval and 2 AC 110's :headbang2

but i heard that u should have 10x the filtration that ur aquarium holds in gallons. ex. 180g tank 1800 gph filtration. ??

:headbang2 Welcome to the 180 club...I suggest either buying or building your own wet/dry...If not, then get two powerful hang ons(such as AC500's) and one canister....

Wet/dry. save your money on canisters and hang ons.invest in a good pump and build/buy your own sump

:iagree: ....DIY or brand new, it's all wet/dry for my tank....The DIY I'm planning to build will cost me under $80, minus the pump of course....

I plan on running two Rena XP3 and one HOB on mine although it won't be used for piranha's.

what about the fluval fx5, anyone ever hear anything bad or good about it? maybe that and a couple big penguin wet/dry's?

fx5 is awesome, but for 300 bux or whatever u can get it for, i'd rather build a wetdry. my wetdry on my 150ga tank does a better job then 2 hob filters, but i have 2 hob walmart filters plus my diy wetdry. after the wetdry got installed i noticed the tank being so much cleaner i couldn't believe it. i have diy filters on all my tanks.

how do u build 1? can i use my old 29g tank?
