I'm picking this thing up on Friday. It's a 180g w/ dual overflows and a 2x4 stand. I have a couple questions. Firstly the stand. I plan on using the stand that is coming with it. Is there an easy way to skin it to add doors, etc.. Aside from just attaching plywood although I guess that could work.. suggestions?

Secondly is I will have to make a wet dry filter. I built one a long time ago for a 120g, it was a 29g and had a Pondmaster 2400gph pump. It kept the tank very clean but was a little on the loud side. I will attach the one that I did previously but I'm open for suggestions on a much quieter setup :grinno: Lastly is the pump, what is a good pump and rated flow for a 180g?

if you REALLY want easy ...you can "skin it "with cheap fabricand use "cuts "for doors

you might be surprised ..maybe not ...still might be worth a trip to the local fabric store to look...it could be done for around 10 bucks:)

I used 1x12 boards to make a skin for mine. My frame is 1 inch angle and I just slip it off to get
to my sump and pump. Makes water chanes easier becuase of the ball valves at the overflows.
I just pump out all my sump and drain the overflows outside. would be harder with everything walled up.

fabric for cheap and easy, few staples to hold it up bam looks good. Easy to get under also.

Get a pump from home depot, they have super big pond pumps for cheap.

Any comment on a DIY wet dry setup for the 180g? Stocking will not be huge.
