Hi

Looking at buying a 10x3x3 tank. I have 2x fx6 filters and new tank comes with a ehiem Pro 3 ? Plus a 4x1.5x1.5 home made sump... Can I get away with running the 3 cannisters. Or should I go sump. I have a 5x2x2 and a 7x2x2.5 at the moment but I wish to just have 1 monster tank. Thinking it holds around 2500 liters so about 660 gallons. What do you think is the best option?

Sump all day long. Many more options easier maintaining, larger water volume. Just to many pros over the canisters. I'd run one of the fx6 off the sump to keep it primed in case you need a hospital tank or something else you've got a filter ready to go.
OK is the 4x1.5x1.5 OK I'm pretty sure the 10 foot has stand pipes drilled in the centre?

It really depends on what.you want out of the sump. You can do pumps, bio, and filter socks, heaters, and maybe a heater controller.

How do you plan on setting up the drains ?

Allot of members are using ultimas on these monster sized tanks. JK47 JK47 is the guru.

Yeah don't need heaters doesn't get cold enough here. It's for an American cichlid community. Will use a sock setup. What's an ultima?

Wish I didn’t need heaters! Too cold here. Bead filters definitely look the way to go with there backwash features too. I have a 10x3x2 with a sump running socks and an fx6 compared to the sump the fx6 is a pain to clean.
