I would like to minimise the noise and keep the tank with most things hidden. I was going to install 3 black durso (is that the right name for the silent curved pipe?) 1 to go either end at the rear and 1 in the centre?
If your not worried about flooding and dont need an emergency (dry drain) you could definitely get away with what you have now. Essentially you would turn those 3 holes or bulk heads into full siphon drains installing gate valves on each line and adjusting the flow. This purges air from the lines and allows you to move allot more water than a gravity fed drain also allowing the system to be dead quiet.
I dont know the exact gph your looking for but id imagine you would want multiple returns on each end of the tank.
Since you dont mind drilling you really have tons of options. Some of us use this graph as a guide (not exact science) to determine how the set up out drains. So an example would be your 3 drains under full siphon could potentially get you 2k gph each. You have to figure in your pumps and make sure the can match this flow.
On the other hand i would definitely at the least install and overflow/weir so that when you turn the system off the tank doesnt drain down the height of your drains.
You could cap off the existing bulkheads and drill new drains to the appropriate sizes as well as drilling emergency drains. Imo if you decide to do that you have to make sure your edrains which arent full siphon can handle your flow. Quick example my tank has two 1.5 inch siphon drains and the flow is adjusted via gate 1 valve. I have 2 x 2inch e drains that can handle the flow of water in the event something clogs the siphon drains.
The other option is to look into this ultimas and get funky with it. I would definitely not be using cans on a tank this large
