sounds good, post some pics up.
turns out i gatta wait a few more months to get started on the actual tank. but im sure once its done it'll be worth the wait.
i was thinkin of makin a sump outta a big rubbermaid conatiner or one of those plastic tool boxes they sell @ lowes/homedepot. the big ones like 100+ gallons.

go with 2-3 mag 36's and open them up to 1.5" hoses

Id say huge wet/dry setup 100-120gal sump. with a pump thatll do say 2-5X the tanks water capacity.

Btw, I forgot to mention that a 1hp Sta-rite pump flows 18000g in eight hours. I would get three turnovers per day leaving it on all of the time. I ended up only using the pump for cleaning. There is enough surface area on my pool for proper gas exchange. The fish and a widely forgotten thing called diffusion took care of mixing up the water.

Here are some pics of the wet/dry that I put together in a bucket. It was on a salt system keeping some native fish alive. The second pic shows the different layers. The red thing in the bottom is the pump. The bucket was then filled with Bio-Bail and then Poly-fill (pillow stuffing) on top of that. The hose curled up on top had holes drilled in it to act as a spray bar. It was very ghetto but worked like a champ.

The only problem with rectangular containers and lots of water...is the water pressure. The pressure in a round barrel will push out in all directions without deforming the barrel. Round things are very good at holding pressure. Rectangular things are not. The pressure will try to turn the rectangular tank onto a round tank. The sides will need to be supported. A frame can be built around a plastic bin to support it. A tool box should be beafy enough to only need bracing across the top to prevent deformation. A few brass or stainless threaded rods through holes drilled along the top should do the trick. Just use large washers to spread the load away from the holes.

ii was thinkin how cool it would be to have an FRT....those things are awesome!

What exactly is a FRT?

Is there an 'a' missing? Cuz I get those all the time...nothing really special though :D
