the stand is almost done and i will be working on the filtration, would a 40 gallon sump with 1200 gph and mag-drive 12 plus a fluval fx5 plus 2 aquaclears 110's be enough filtration for it (plan on stocking four or five large cichlids, should i add anything,or would this be ok(sump already cycling on another tank)

I think that you would be ok even without the ACs. It depends how many gallons of bioballs you had in the wet/dry.

not sure how many gallons,i have 100 pot scubbies in the sump(not sure what that would add up too)made the sump tower out os the plastic drawers you use for storage it held 50 pot scrubbies in each drawer and the filter pads in the small drawer up top(three drawers one small to large)

Sounds good to me. What cichlids?

Yeah with an FX5 you would be good. I wouldn't even put the ACs on there. The FX5s are very nice. I have one on my 125 and it works rediculously well.

i have another thread on here (final stocking 265 good or bad) i am still trying to decide on a interesting mix of sa/ca cichlids,so far i want a blackbelt,v regani, synpilus and h carpintis, what you think

thanks really just getting into cichlids have had oscars and green terrors in a 125 as we speak but trying to get into something a bit more interesting, not a beginner but not a know it all, still got alot of learning to do.thanks to you both any suggestions on stock would be appreciated(got to go to work now be back in the morning hope you have some good ideas for me on fish for my tank)

im running a 30 gal. sump with scrubbies and bio balls - mag-12 and 2 xp3s no problems so far.

stocklist is 2 la ceiba yellow heads,2 festae,2 freddies,2 black convicts,1paratheraps fenestratus,1 banded leporinus and 1red tail "shark" all are 4" and under except the fen hes about 7"

Argentae, Melanurus, and Pearsi. I wouldn't go with the more aggressive CAs. I had a Regani and it was my least favorite fish. I would swap out the Argenta with the Regani if it were me. I have all of the others on your list as well and they are pretty slick.
