I can't decide on what to filter my 75g with.

i currently have a penguin 350B from my old tank and was considering getting an ac 110 or this canister filter from ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/AQUARIUM-FISH-T...emQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item2c529f1058

does anyone have experience w/ the sunsun canisters? Im afraid i won't get qality or dependability but the price is hard to pass up.

also considering building a sump with this overflow and pump from ebay, but im concerened that the pump might be too powerful for the overflow:

http://cgi.ebay.com/AQUARIUM-OVERFL...emQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3caa056775

Tank is stocked w/ one 2.5" tiger oscar, six 2"-3" silver dollars, and two 3" pictus cats (which i may or may not keep)

suggestions?

The overflow is rated at a max of 600 gph, and the pump is a CA 4000 rated at 1300 gph at 0' head. the output for the pump will be a little less than 4' above the sump.

a pair of AC110 HOB filters would work great too.

:iagree:

thats what im using on my 75, water is always clean and clear

My sunsun canister (HW302, 1000 l/h) arrived today, so I'll add my review.

1: It's noisy. Hopefully it will quiet down once all the air is expelled.
2: The flow is about 50% of what the say; I measured 140 GPH with a stopwatch and a milk jug.

1: The priming button works extremely well, compared to the POS pump on my fluval 404s.
2: Fairly large capacity, about 6 liters of media space.

For your tank, I would get an AC110

If your going to get a HOB, get a aquaclear. I've never had a cheap brand canister. I just can't imagine it would last near as long as a Fluval or somethin.

I don't care for the AC110 at all. I did have one for about 8 years and never stopped worring that it would leak around the motor and it finally did. Well never buy anouther.
I use the bio wheel 400 and a rena xp3 on my 75 gallon. Works very well.
