Filtration for a 180g?

I would do 2 emperor400's and a fx5 canister. Or you could do some ac110's but there has been alot of talk lately about there pumps burning up and they do not want to start up after WC's

got this set up with my 180 and gonna do the same for my 220

Eheim 2260 alone can do.

dont rule out a wet/dry. youll end up with a nice bio-load with your current stocklist.

if the fish are juvi's, start with a nice canister, while you gather parts and build a sump to accompany it.

Two big hang on back filters (emperor 400/ac110) and a FX5.

I would atleast do 2 filters of what ever you choose. It is just nice have a backup running allready if anything was to happen. I would do the canister and the emperors.

nope. took me a week of reading online articles here and there to figure out the basics of a wet/dry. saw a lot of cookie cutter plans that i didnt like, so i figured out exactly what parts did what, and designed my own to fit my needs. i probably spent around $200 to make a fully functional wet/dry with media.
