Filtration for an Arowana Tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
When using canisters its always a good idea to have two, you could always use the extra protection and when cleaning, you clean in intervals never the both at the same time.

more is always better... :)

None of us can telll whether it is enough or not for your tank. Every tank is different and many factors play into consideration like bioload, frequency of feeding, water changes and so on... The best way to know whether it is enough is to constantly check your water parameters yourself and then slowly add more filtration accordingly. If you are just asking about flowrate then i would recommend a minimum of 5 times an hour of the total volume of your tank.

I have an Eheim 2229 canister filter for my 100 gallon. Should this be enough?

Eheim 2229 canister filter it's the wet dry isn't it ? It would be fine it's for a 159gal tank you have a 100gal that would be sound pal !

The filter will be fine but i'm not sure that tank size would be for an Arowana i have a 180Gal with a Silver Arowana and thats fine for the time been as he's only 9/10" but as soon as he hit's 24" i'm selling him ! as he's out grow my tank !
